Can you get counselling for free on the NHS?
Yes, you can be referred for counselling by your GP. However, the NHS waiting times can be lengthy, and you may be referred to an online guided self-help course first. This is why we offer free six to eight weekly sessions for anyone on the NHS waiting list, children, and unpaid carers.Â

At TGC, you will be encouraged to discuss your feelings and emotions at your therapy or counselling appointment. I will listen and support you, showing empathic understanding without judging or criticising you.
You will get support in understanding your feelings and thought processes better, and will be empowered to find solutions to your worries. I will not advise or tell you what to do but facilitate your session to enable you to gain your independence.
Your Counselling or Therapy can take place:

We offer a high quality, but low-cost, service and the profits generated are used to benefit the community.
Our primary purpose is to provide benefits to the community we serve, many of them facing significant social and cultural disadvantages.
We offer human-to-human connection and compassionate care.
We use different methods to facilitate our client’s session, including Trauma Informed and the Open Dialogue Approaches.
Our counsellors are trained and qualified professionals’ members of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and we operate under their guidelines.
We offer free six to eight weeks counselling to those on the NHS waiting list or those on low income.
What We Offer
Counselling For Depression (CFD)
Counselling or Talking Therapies and Psychological Therapies can be an effective treatment option for Depression, Abuse, Anxiety, Relationship problems, Stress, Loss, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Work-related stress, Trauma, Bereavement, panic attacks, agoraphobia, etc., as they provide individuals with a safe and supportive space to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. They aimed at improving emotional well-being and personal growth. However, they differ in scope, focus and duration. For example, counselling or talking therapies are short-term intervention that focuses on resolving specific issues or life transitions. In contrast, psychological therapies (Psychotherapy) are longer as they delve more into underlying patterns and emotions.

Counselling is a professional service provided by trained individuals, known as counsellors, to help people manage and overcome a range of personal challenges, emotional difficulties, and mental health issues. The process involves a confidential relationship between the counsellor and the client, aimed at fostering personal growth, emotional well-being, and problem-solving skills
