From my eight years of experience working in the early years setting, I understand
the crucial role of Play in children’s learning and development. I have engaged the
children in the Play-Based Learning approach. PBL is child-centred and focuses on
children’s academic, social, and emotional development, interests, and abilities
through engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences. I
understand that Play is an essential tool in children’s all-round development. For
example, it:
Stimulates their cognitive development,
Supports language development,
Enhances problem-solving skills and encourages creativity,
Play lays a strong foundation for children’s future all-around attainments.
At TGC, the understanding positively impacts how we facilitate each child’s therapy
session. We engage children through Play, enabling them to have a natural curiosity
to explore, make connections, and understand what is seen, heard, and experienced
in their world. We empower them to develop independence, perseverance, and turn-
taking skills. Doing so helps our clients break behavioural barriers, negotiate, and
build positive relationships. We provide an inclusive, safe space that supports them
in unlocking opportunities to practice in their home, fostering a love for change,
developing imagination, and help grasping concepts in a fun and engaging way.
